Man perishes in northwest Ohio fire

DAMASCUS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a man died in a weekend fire in northeast Ohio.

The fire department in Damascus said the body of the victim was found in the basement of the home in Goshen Township after the fire was put out late Saturday.

The (Youngstown) Vindicator (http://bit.ly/Zv7zQ5 ) reports that the state fire marshal is calling the cause of death undetermined, pending a coroner’s report.

The man’s name has not been released.

Damascus is southwest of Youngstown.
