A Vienna Township man was killed in a mobile home fire over the weekend.
Local investigators, as well as a team from the State Fire Marshal’s office, combed through the remains of Richard Baglier’s house trailer this morning at the Four Seasons Mobile Home Park” off Route 193 across from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
Firefighters were called around 11:30 p.m. Saturday and found the trailer engulfed in flames. Baglier, 65, was found in his bedroom, and officials think Baglier may have been smoking in bed when the fire started, but they are waiting for autopsy results.
“They knew the occupant’s vehicle was here and we kinda suspected he was still in the trailer. We could not gain entry due to the heat and smoke. Once we had the fire knocked down, we found him inside the bedroom door, he was up against the door,” said Vienna Fire Chief Richard Brannon.
At this point, investigators believe the blaze was an accident. Authorities said they also found no evidence of smoke detectors in the trailer.
