School, church official pleads in Pa. fetish case

SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) — A former southwestern Pennsylvania school board member and church official has pleaded guilty to corruption of minors and unlawful conduct with minors for inappropriate contact involving a foot fetish with at five boys at his church and other locations since 2007.

Fifty-seven-year-old Brian Eppley, of Davidsville, pleaded guilty Friday, just days after Somerset County prosecutors opposed his request for a nonjury trial.

Police say Eppley was a Conemaugh Township school board member and deacon at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren in Jerome when he had contact with the boys more than 75 times. He’s since resigned from both positions.

Investigators say Eppley, of Davidsville, Somerset County, would have the boys but their bare feet in Eppley’s face or in his lap, and that Eppley would also trace their feet.

Eppley faces sentencing July 11.
