Pa. man pleads guilty to moving friend’s body

SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse for moving a friend’s corpse out of his apartment into the victim’s pickup truck.

Thirty-seven-year-old Michael Moore of Somerset entered the plea Monday in Somerset County Court. A sentencing date has not been set.

His girlfriend told police that 53-year-old Frankie Sass showed up at their apartment Jan. 23 and was later found dead, so they contacted a friend who helped load the body into the vehicle.

She said they then drove the vehicle to another part of the borough, wiped it down, threw the keys inside and locked it.

Sass was reported missing that day and his body was found four days later.

Moore apologized profusely to the man’s relatives at an April 12 preliminary hearing.
