Suspect in Pa. guard’s killing sent to Supermax

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — An inmate suspected of killing a corrections officer at a federal prison in northeastern Pennsylvania has been transferred to the federal Supermax prison in Colorado.

The Citizens’ Voice reports (http://bit.ly/14Uiebh ) authorities say 36-year-old Jessie Con-ui was moved Friday from the high-security federal prison in Allenwood to the facility in Florience, Colo. A Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman would not give a reason for the transfer.

Officials say Con-ui is the suspect in the Feb. 25 killing of Corrections Officer Eric Williams, who was working in a housing unit at the federal prison in Wayne County when an inmate using a homemade weapon attacked him.

Con-ui had been jailed for his role in an Arizona drug-trafficking operation. He was scheduled to complete the sentence in September and would have been returned to Arizona to serve a life term for a 2002 murder.
