Pa. man steals $545K from beer distributor

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to stealing $545,000 from a beer distributor.

The Erie Times-News ( ) reports that 61-year-old Robert J. Stablein pleaded guilty Friday to three third-degree felony counts of theft by unlawful taking under a plea deal with prosecutors.

Stablein also agreed to pay restitution totaling $545,000 for the thefts from Edinboro Beverage Distributors Inc. that took place between 2009 and 2011. That’s about 20 miles south of Erie.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 11.
