Police: 2 hurt in York County small-plane crash

BROGUE, Pa. (AP) — State police say two people are being treated for injuries after a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff at a rural airport in southern York County.

Trooper Rob Hicks said the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Baublitz Commercial Airport near Brogue, about 50 miles north of Baltimore.

Hicks says the plane hit some utility lines.

The pilot was 20-year-old Randy Shoemaker, and his passenger was 61-year-old Laurence Stone, both from Windsor, Pa. They were taken to York Hospital, but their injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.

Hicks says the crash is under investigation.
