Funeral set for Harrisburg Roman Catholic bishop

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A funeral is scheduled next week for Bishop Joseph McFadden of the Roman Catholic diocese of Harrisburg.

The 65-year-0ld McFadden died unexpectedly Thursday in Philadelphia after feeling ill at a meeting of the Catholic Bishops of Pennsylvania.

Church officials say McFadden’s body will be received at St. Patrick Cathedral in Harrisburg on Sunday evening and will lie in state until Tuesday evening.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Harrisburg. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

All services are open to the public.
