York College locked down after central Pa. robbery

YORK, Pa. (AP) — Normal operations have resumed at York College in central Pennsylvania after the university was locked down overnight as police searched for a robbery suspect.

College spokeswoman Mary Dolheimer says the school sent out a series of alerts to students early Thursday as police sought a suspect in a series of armed robberies in the area. Police searched the campus, but have determined that the suspect is no longer in the area.

The all-clear was given around 1:45 a.m.

During the lockdown, students, faculty and staff were advised to stay where they were and secure all doors and windows.
