1 hurt in shooting near central Ohio college

DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) — Students at a central Ohio college were warned to stay inside after a shooting wounded one person.

Police in Delaware, north of Columbus, said the shooting was reported Thursday night near an elementary school. A teenager was shot in the upper body and taken to a hospital, but there was no word on his condition.

Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware sent alerts to students warning them to stay inside.

Police said the shooting happened after a fight. They said “multiple people were detained,” but it was unclear if anyone had been arrested.
