Parking Ticket Amnesty Coming to a Close

If you plan to take advantage of Youngstown’s parking ticket amnesty program, but haven’t done so yet, you have until Saturday.

Workers with the Youngstown Clerk of Courts said they’ve seen a steady stream of people coming through the office all this week. The clerk has offered motorists the chance to pay off overdue parking tickets, regardless of how old they might be, for just $10 per infraction.

The money collected will be deposited into the city’s general fund.

The clerk’s office will be open Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but drivers will have to enter City Hall through the police department entrance on Boardman Street. After Saturday, those with overdue tickets could have their car towed or have a locking “boot” attached to the tire.
