SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — A van crossed a center line and hit a car head-on in northern Ohio, leaving two people dead.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 56-year-old John Clark of Huron was driving a van with his wife and daughter on U.S. Route 6 in Sandusky County on Friday afternoon when he crashed into a car carrying 49-year-old Carla Dixon-Bowers of Lima.

Clark, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at a Toledo hospital. Dixon-Bowers was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clark’s wife and daughter had non-life-threatening injuries.

U.S. Route 6 was closed to traffic for three hours during the accident investigation.

The crash is still under investigation but officers do not suspect it’s alcohol-related.
