Local artists displayed their work Sunday during the Spring Open Studio and Art Sale in Youngstown.

This is the ninth year for the event which was sponsored by Artists of the Mahoning Commons and Friends.

The sale kicked off Saturday and included everything from paintings to jewelry, sculptures and pottery.  This year’s sale featured the work of  33 local artists.  Organizers said their goal is to showcase the talent of local artists right here in the Valley.

“People that don’t know about the building and are unaware that this activity is going on here in Youngstown have an opportunity to come down and check us all out, visit our studios, look at our work,” said sculptor Tony Armeni.

Close to 600 people showed up for the two-day art sale this year.
