Hagan Takes First Step In U.S. Senate Run

State Rep. Bob Hagan filed paperwork Monday in the first steps to seek the U.S. Senate seat now held by Republican Rob Portaman.

In a news release, Hagan, D-Youngstown, said a formal announcement tour on his candidacy is in the planning stages.

“I’m excited about filing the paperwork and energized by the support I’ve received from my family, friends, and the thousands of people from across the United States who have logged on to my Facebook or sent me emails encouraging me to challenge Rob Portman,” Hagan said.

The forms filed with the Secretary of the U.S. Senate, Office of Public Records will enable Representative Hagan to solicit and accept contributions to his Senate campaign fund: Bob Hagan for U. S. Senate.
