Teen slain after basketball game outside Philly

DARBY, Pa. (AP) — Police just outside Philadelphia say they are investigating after a teenager was fatally shot after a neighborhood basketball game.

Investigators say it happened in Darby around 10 p.m. Sunday. The game had just broken up and a group of teenagers were dispersing when someone in the area opened fire. WPVI-TV reports the man had approached the group and demanded money.

The victim collapsed and was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

No arrest was immediately announced.
