Area nurses spent the day helping the needy.

Nurses represented by the Ohio Nurses Association District 3 spent the day at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Youngstown.

The group volunteered as a way to celebrate National Nurses Week.

“We believe that you cannot enjoy good health and a good quality of life if you’re hungry,” said nurse Linda Werino. “So we think about our community we serve everyday with regards to health care and we think the best way to serve them during national nurses week and to celebrate national nurses week is to help feed the Valley.”
