Canfield held off Ursuline, 8-6, in high school baseball action on Thursday. The setback is just the second loss of the season for the Irish, who also fell on Wednesday.

Tom Ciccolelli paced the Cardinals going 2-4 with three RBIs, including a triple. Edmond Pilolli added a double with 2 RBIs, while Kyle Nagy chipped in with two hits and an RBI.
Alec Hammond pitched two innings of shutout relief for the Cardinals to earn the win on the mound. Pilolli struck out two in one inning of work to notch the save.
Michael Montalbano, Sam Donko, and Joel Hake each tallied two hits apiece for the Irish. Donko and Montalbano each drove in a run in the setback.
Canfield improves to 12-10 on the season while Ursuline drops to 17-2.
