Richard Williams

A Masury man convicted of assaulting his mother and a neighbor was sentenced to six years in prison.

Richard Williams, 34, who dressed as a woman for his trial, was in prison cell orange Thursday morning in Trumbull County Court for his sentencing.

Williams will spend six years behind bars for assaulting his neighbor. Prosecutors said Williams broke his neighbor’s arm after the neighbor tried to stop a fight between Williams and his mother.

The incident happened in October of 2011. Reports said that Williams and his mother were fighting when a neighbor from across the street heard screaming and came to help. Williams attacked the neighbor, breaking her arm. Williams’ mother said at the time that her son was either drunk or high.
