The Mahoning County Junior Fair Advisory Board will hold its first-ever Trunk Sale on June 1 at the Canfield Fairgrounds.

“We were in need of some fundraising ideas. We do events during the fair to raise money such as Battle of the Barns, but we needed something bigger in the off-season,” said board member Will Wainio.

He said vendors can rent space for $25 and keep all the proceeds from the items they sell, similar to a garage sale but on a larger scale. Vendors must reserve their spot by May 27.

Wainio said 40 vendors already have signed up to participate. Admission and parking are free.
