Plants For Sale at Fellows Riverside Gardens

Spring has sprung at Fellows Riverside Gardens and Friends of the Fellows is holding its annual spring plant sale.

The sale includes annuals, hanging baskets, summer bulbs, roses and more.

Funds from the sale go to support the gardens and some of the educational programs offered. Several master gardeners will be on hand to assist visitors with gardening questions. Master Gardener Sara Scudier said a lot of people ask about the plants and how they will do in cold temperatures or frost conditions.

“No, they are not safe because it’s not just going to frost. If it gets to 30, going to freeze, and that’s not good for most of those plants,” said Scudier. “If they’re not sure if it’s hardy or not, ask. We know, we’ll gladly tell you what you need to protect and what you don’t.”

The sale runs through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
