The mothers of the Vista Center were honored Sunday to help kick-off National Nursing Home Week.

The women residents at the rehabilitation and long-term care facility were honored during a Mother’s Day luncheon buffet.

Nearly 75 women had the opportunity to be pampered by having their hair and makeup done by staff members and volunteers.

The Vista Center has activities planned for the rest of the week to celebrate National Nursing Home Week.

“A national holiday that is celebrated across America to celebrate the life that happens in nursing facilities across the nation,” said Vista Center activity director Maureen McCarty. “Vista Center of Boardman has a lot of different programs that we plan and that really showcase the residents life.”

A band entertained the guests during the meal.
