The Boardman girls advance to the Division I Sectional finals after a 9-6 victory over Howland.

The Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning after a home run by Emily Price and a two-RBI triple by Monica Kotyuk.
Boardman got one run back in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by Megan Jones. After trailing 4-2 in the 2nd inning, the Spartans tied it up on a two-RBI double by Melissa Maiorano. The Spartans then took a 5-4 lead on an RBI single by Courtney Cina.
Howland’s Olga Grech tied it at 5-5 in the 3rd inning on a home run to left field.
But, the Spartans plated four runs in the 5th inning, capped off by a two-run homer by Casey Johnson, to take a 9-5 lead.
Boardman advances to play Warren Harding in the Sectional finals on May 15 at 4:30 at Warren Harding High School.
