A black bear showed up Friday in a Liberty backyard.
Liberty police said a Tibbets-Wick Road resident saw the bear in their back yard.
Police said on their Facebook page to remain calm if you see a black bear and that black bears are usually non-aggressive.
Other tips included to avoid making eye contact with the bear and walk slowly away from the area.
“You want to remove any bird feeders, you want to clean the grease traps of your gas grill and you want to take your garbage, lock it in your garage and take it out the morning of trash pickup,” said Bray Kay of the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
