Firefighters in Poland responded to a salvage yard fire just after 4 p.m. on Friday.

No injuries were reported but several cars were badly damaged in the blaze.

The salvage yard is behind Stanley’s Auto Wrecking on Route 224 near Struthers Road.

Police shut down the road until the scene was under control.

The fire was contained to a metal carport. The cause is under investigation.
