Police say SE Pa. teens robbed, beat blind man

READING, Pa. (AP) — Police say two teenagers robbed and beat a blind man walking from a bus stop in Reading, Pa.

The Reading Eagle (bit.ly/17GVj3u) reports that a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy turned themselves Friday after they were identified in surveillance camera images as the pair who attacked the man.

They were released to the custody of their parents pending juvenile court action on robbery and related charges.

Police say the suspects approached the man from behind as he walked to Reading Area Community College, grabbed his backpack and beat him when he refused to let go.

The victim was not seriously injured.

Police withheld the suspects’ names because they are minors.
