W. Pa. toddler suffers severe injuries

BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the case of a 20-month-old western Pennsylvania child who has life-threatening injuries.

Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty says Friday that police are investigating the injuries and searching a Blairsville home for evidence of abuse. That’s about 40 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Authorities say the child was flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh early Friday morning with severe injuries to the head and torso.

Dougherty says he hopes to have more information soon.
