YSU’s Cook Waived by Browns

Former YSU running back Jamaine Cook was waived by the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday. He was signed by the team as an undrafted free agent last month and attended rookie mini-camp, May 10-12.

Cook is YSU’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards and second in rushing yards with over 4,000 for his career with 39 touchdowns.

He was released to make room for Miguel Maysonet who was awarded to Cleveland off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Maysonet is a product of Stony Brook, where he was a two-time Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Year and totaled 4,725 yards with 48 touchdowns during his career.
