MCCTC Students Take Home Trophies at State Competition

Krystal Means of Jackson Milton took home a gold medal and placed first overall in the Toys that Teach event.

Students in the culinary arts program and the early childhood education program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center took high honors at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) state competition.

Krystal Means of Jackson Milton High School took home a gold medal and placed first overall in the Toys that Teach event.

Kayli Dean of Western Reserve High School won a gold medal in the Language and Literacy event and Marissa Edwards of Sebring High School won a silver medal in the Toys that Teach event.

The senior culinary arts team received a gold medal rating and placed fourth overall. Members of the team are Catlyn Walker of Struthers, Sam Kosec of Canfield and Erika Rigby of Canfield.

Students were led by early childhood education instructor Julie Pagnotta and culinary arts instructor Matt Putzier.
