A Warren man is being held in the Trumbull County Jail on $1 million bond, accused of stomping to death a 57-year-old man.
Jerred Watson, 28, entered no plea Tuesday to a murder charge at his initial appearance in Warren Municipal Court.
Watson is accused of killing George Myers, 57, in the backyard of Myer’s 148 Dickey Ave. N.W. home.
Police said it appeared he died from being beaten to death with a blunt object and may have been stomped to death. Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germanuik ruled the death a homicide on Tuesday and said Myers died of multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.
Watson, police said, was Myers’ daughter’s ex-boyfriend.
It is the fourth homicide in Warren this year. There were five total in 2012.
