Program Assists Non-Profits

Non-profit organizations in the Valley learned how to strengthen community ties and grow their programs.

The Wean Foundation hosted the Capacity Building Event Tuesday in Warren with 60 non-profit organizations from the area.

The program is the second in a year-long series of events planned to help non-profits.

Organizers said the sessions help convey the good work organizations do to policymakers, potential funders and volunteers.

“We think it’s a great sign. We’ve tapped into a market that does look for professional development and how organizations, individuals and leaders can be more effective in their work,” said Jeff Glebocki, president of the Wean Foundation.

The Wean Foundation believes having a strong non-profit sector is essential to building the community.
