Two New Service Plazas Open in the Valley

Ohio Turnpike

Two new service plazas have opened along the Ohio Turnpike on both side of Interstate 76 at mile marker 237.

The Mahoning Valley and Glacier Hills service plazas opened simultaneously Tuesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Mahoning Valley plaza.

Covelli Enterprises will operate a Panera Bread and Dairy Queen Grill and Chill restaurants at  both locations. The Dairy Queen restaurants are set to officially open June 5.

The Panera Bread restaurants will be open 24 hours a day but with a limited menu in the overnight hours.

“We are thrilled to open our very first Panera Bread and Dairy Queen stores together on the turnpike,” said Sam Covelli, Owner/Operator of Covelli Enterprises. “The menus of these two concepts are fantastic on their own, and together, we think they will complement each other to serve the needs of a variety of turnpike travelers.”

Approximately 150 employees have been hired and both restaurants are still hiring.

Construction on the projects began in January of 2013.
