Chemical Odor Forces Poland High School Evacuation

Charges filed in Pittsburgh fire that killed six people.

Students and staff were evacuated at Poland High School Wednesday morning because of fumes coming from the chemistry lab.

Interim Superintendent Don Dailey said the smell was noticed around 8:05 and the building was completely evacuated by 8:15 a.m.

Emergency crews were called to the school and the building was cleared of the smell.

Students were able to return to class by  9 a.m.
