A man went to the hospital after his car was shot multiple times Friday night on Youngstown’s South Side.

Police said Salvador Battles, 23, was injured in the shooting.

Officers found Battles in the driver’s seat of a car at about 9 p.m. Friday at the corner of South and Avondale Avenue.  The vehicle had 13 bullet holes and blown-out driver’s side window.

Battles told police he was shot near the intersection of Marmion Avenue and South Avenue. He drove a few blocks south to Ally’s Food Mart, where he stopped to get help.

Battles described the suspect’s vehicle as a white four-door car.

An investigation into the incident continues.
