Frost and freeze warnings for W. Pa.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The National Weather Service says the Memorial Day weekend will start off with brief frost and freeze warnings for much of western Pennsylvania.

The frost warning is in effect for the Pittsburgh area and southwestern counties from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday. A freeze warning is in effect for the same time period for the Altoona area and northwestern counties. Temperatures will range from 30 to 34 degrees, and outdoor plants could be damaged.

Temperatures are expected to rise Saturday afternoon and Sunday, with highs in the 60s and low 70s in western Pennsylvania.
