Kids Hitch a Ride to School

Students at Springfield Local High School in Mahoning County put aside their car keys and hopped a tractor to school Friday.

It’s an  annual end of the year tradition for high schoolers with a driver’s license.

The student council helped organize the event.

“It’s just fun. Everybody says we’re hicks, so we just prove them right,” said student Joe Johnson.

“A lot of kids this is all they know. This is what they do every day,” said student Alex Wharry.

The students designed shirts to wear and some even dressed up in costumes.
