Mooney has won eight of their last nine games including their 12-0 victory in the District Final against Struthers. Ryan Megyesi had two extra base hits (triple and double) as he was able to plate five runs. Denver Martin and Drew Designore have both been exceptional at the dish. Martin leads the team with a .452 batting average (28-62) and 6 triples. Designore has posted a .388 average (38-98) with 10 doubles, 19 RBIs and 27 runs scored.

Over his last six appearances, senior Kane Durkin has struck out 27 batters allowing just five walks over 21.2 innings of work to compile a 1.32 ERA. Number 26 has posted a season earned run average of 1.99, striking out 61, while allowing his opposition to hit .205. Joe Cunningham has registered a 2.45 ERA while whiffing 41 in 40 innings.

Canton South’s Cody Stickel permitted just two base hits in the Wildcats’ 9-0 win over Alliance in the District Championship. Stickel now is 6-1 on the campaign after his 5-K performance. Noah Mallen went 4 for 4 with a pair of doubles in the contest with the Aviators. Damon Wade contributed with 5 RBIs.
