The Lady Cards knocked off Poland for the third time this season to secure their first District title since 2008, oddly enough that was the year that Canfield won the state tournament. Senior Abby Baker threw a five-hit shutout against their 224-rival. Baker’s impressive day was highlighted by her command by not allowing a single walk.

District Semifinal – Fairless 3 Manchester 2
Sectional Final – Fairless 5 Akron Hoban 2

In the District Championship match up, Mikayla Fowler scored on a throwing error to give the Lady Falcons a 2-1 victory in eleven innings. Coach Carrie Reynell’s sophomore pitcher Kelly Hysong has struck out over 200 batters this season. As a freshman, she registered a 7-4 mark with 96 punch outs in 65 innings. Number 7 is the probable starter for this evening’s game.

Winner to play in the Regional Championship on June 1 at noon against the winner of Walsh Jesuit/Geneva
