Wean Building Wins Award

The Raymond Jean Wean Foundation building in Warren was awarded as the best commercial rehabilitation project in the state by Heritage Ohio.

A statement from the Wean Foundation said the building at 147 W. Market St. was given the award for the best storefront, interior and/or total building improvement project in the state based on proper preservation techniques.

The building was restored from July 2011 to May 2012 by the Chesler Group. The building was built in 1868.

The building features a rotating art collection on loan from the permanent collection housed at the Butler Institute of American Art.

Other tenants in the building tenants include the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, Mahoning Valley College Access Program, Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center and FracTracker Alliance.
