2 Injured in Warren Township Crash

A father and son from Warren are in critical condition at Warren hospitals after a crash Friday evening in Warren Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Charles J. Zell Sr., 58, was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck south on Highland Avenue in the area of Sixth Street S.W. about 7 p.m. when he went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

The truck sustained heavy front end damage, and the crash knocked out power to nearby residents.

Zell’s son, Charles J. Zell Jr., 38, was a passenger in the truck. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt, according to the patrol, and toxicology results are unknown.

Zell Sr. was listed in critical condition at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, while Zell Jr. was listed in critical condition at St. Joseph Hospital.
