A Hillsville man is being held in the Mahoning County Jail on suspicion of raping his ex-wife.
Michael C. Pezzulo, 36, of Overlook Drive, was arrested Friday on charges of rape, domestic violence and violating a protection order. Formal charges had not been filed as of 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Reports do not say what happened. Officers noted Pezzulo was suspected of using alcohol, that his ex-wife had a protection order against him and that he has a tattoo on his right shoulder that says “Born to Raise Hell.”
A search of Pennsylvania court records show Pezzulo was convicted of reckless endangerment in 2010. He was originally charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment.
He was sentenced to 18 months probation and referred to the Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol treatment program.
Records also show he was convicted of drunk driving in 2000 and was sentenced to two years probation and an alcohol treatment program.
Charges in 1996 of simple assault and in 2010 of retaliating against a witness or victim and harassment were dismissed by prosecutors.
