Resumes of Latinos delivered to Corbett’s office

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Latino and community activists have delivered two binders of resumes to Gov. Tom Corbett’s Philadelphia office to protest his recent comment about the lack of Hispanics in his administration.

The Philadelphia Inquirer ( ) reports that about two dozen people marched three blocks to Corbett’s regional office and handed the binders to the office director.

Earlier this month, Corbett appeared in Philadelphia at an event sponsored by Al Dia News Media and said in response to a question that he had no Latinos on his staff. He added, “If you can find us one, please let me know.”

Community organizer Jorge Salazar criticized Corbett for suggesting a lack of qualified Latino candidates.

Corbett has said his comment was taken out of context to hurt him politically.
