LaBrae Rally Comes Up Short

LaBrae’s softball team nearly rallied with two outs in the seventh inning but fell just short to Columbia, 3-2, in a Division III Regional Final at Massillon Washington High School on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings cut the deficit to 3-2 when Danielle Miracle ripped a single to right field. The ball rolled under the glove of the right fielder. That allowed a run to score. Columbia was able to record a strikeout to end the rally and the game.

LaBrae fell behind in the bottom of the 3rd inning after a pair of errors allowed the Raiders to plate the game’s first run.

The Vikings answered right back in the top of the 4th inning scoring a run on a wild pitch.

The game remained tied at 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Columbia scored a pair of runs on an RBI double and RBI triple.

LaBrae finishes the season with a record of 17-9.
