Philly shootings kill 1 man, critically injure 2nd

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police in Philadelphia are investigating several overnight shootings that killed one man and critically injured another.

A police spokeswoman said a 29-year-old man was hit five times by gunfire at 10 p.m. in west Philadelphia and was pronounced dead at just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said another shooting shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday sent an 18-year-old man to Hahnemann University Hospital in critical but stable condition. Police said an arrest had been made in that case.

Another man shot at about the same time in a southwest Philadelphia home sent a 30-year-old man to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
