HMHP Recognized for Wound Care Treatment

Humility of Mary Health Partners is being honored for wound treatment at two of its locations.

The hospital system has received Center of Distinction awards for its Wound Care Centers at both St. Joseph Health Center in Warren and St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.

Both offices have wound healing and patient satisfaction rates at higher than 90 percent, which qualified them for the awards.

“We’ve added hyperbaric oxygen therapy for things like diabetic ulcers to salvage limbs, skin flaps from plastic surgery,” said Dr. Felix Pesa, HMHP physician. “The outcomes for those patients have been terrific.”

HMHP began its wound care program about 15 years ago and officials said it’s been growing ever since.
