Northeastern Pa. woman dies after creek rescue

FACTORYVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A 34-year-old woman has died after being pulled from a creek in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Emergency crews responded Sunday afternoon to rescue three people from a swimming area known as “little Rocky Glen” near Factoryville in Wyoming County.

Chastity Cobb of Hop Bottom was pulled out of the water and taken to Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton.

Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said she was pronounced dead around 2 p.m.

Tunkhannock Community Ambulance Chief Mike Henn says the swimmers were in a rocky area where the currents “get tricky.”

The cause of death appears to be accidental but the investigation continues.
