WKBN 27 Caring for Our Community campaign honors Safe Students

To honor and recognize local students for making smart decisions during high school, the WKBN 27 Caring for Our Community campaign has created the Safe Students program.

After randomly selecting five local schools from across the viewing area, we created commercials to recognize the school and the students for their accomplishments of living a safe lifestyle.  As a high school student, one is faced with many pressures and key decisions that they have to make.  These commercials are meant to be a message of hope and encouragement about staying safe and making smart decisions.

The students had a hand in creating these commercials, not only were they featured in them, but they also they were the directors who lead us around their school.  Throughout this process we also got a lot of “Behind the Scenes” footage.  This extra video was put together for a fun look at how these commercial spots were created – Enjoy!

Thank you to all the schools who were featured and all the schools that submitted a request to be a part of the WKBN 27 Caring for Our Community Safe Students program.  We appreciate your time and dedication to bringing up these young students to be leaders and role models.  The WKBN 27 Caring for Our Community campaign, and events like this, are made possible through our sponsor partners:  Huntington Bank, Boardman Medical Supply, Dunkin’ Donuts, Window World and Mr. Rooter.
