Students Give Ursuline Baseball Team Sendoff

The students of Ursuline High School in Youngstown wished their varsity baseball team luck as they boarded a bus Wednesday heading to the state semi-finals in Columbus.

The student body gathered near the shrine on the Ursuline Campus for a pep rally where Father Richard Murphy led the students in a cheer.

The group also saluted national qualifiers from the school in track and speech competitions.

The baseball team will compete against Wheelersburg in the Division 3 State Semi-Final Championship game on Thursday.

“We are going to salute our baseball team and the program that I believe, for the ninth time, representing Ursuline High School in the state championships,” said Father Murphy.

The students formed a line to salute the baseball athletes as they boarded the bus.
