A nurse and ex-girlfriend of a Howland doctor is facing charges for breaking into the man’s home and attacking his new girlfriend in their bedroom.
Kathy Fimognari, 48, of Boardman, was arraigned Thursday in Warren Municipal Court on aggravated burglary and menacing charges. She is free after posting 10 percent of a $1,000 bond.
Reports said Dr. James Morgenstern and his girlfriend, Erika Rossi, were sleeping at about 8 a.m. on May 10 at Morgenstern’s 126 Quail Hollow Circle, when Fimognari broke into the home through large garage windows.
She went into the bedroom and kicked the cell phone from Morgenstern’s hands, Rossi said, and repeatedly threatened to kill them.
She then pulled Rossi from the bed to the ground and repeatedly stomped on her head while pulling her hair, reports said.
“My head was pulsating,” Rossi told WKBN. “There was blood dripping out of my ear. She had high heels on (and) was kicking me continuously in the head. She had me by my hair when she was doing it. It was a miracle that I even got up. I really didn’t think I was going to make it out of there.”
Reports said Fimognari sent a text message to Rossi minutes after police arrived saying “Don’t press charges, I’m gone for good.”
The day before, Fimognari, caused a disturbance at Morgenstern’s office and refused to leave, reports said.
Morgenstern told police the two recently broke up. She said she threatened to break Morgenstern’s office doors and to “claw his face off” when she saw him, reports said.
