Orioles Tab Dosch in 7th Round

In the 7th round (219th pick) of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft, the Baltimore Orioles selected Penguins’ junior third baseman Drew Dosch.

Number 11 hit .353 with 79 base hits for Youngstown State this past spring. Dosch belted 8 homers while compiling 12 doubles and 42 RBIs.

For a Penguin to be drafted in the 7th round marked the earliest a YSU player had been taken since 2005 when Justin Thomas (LHP) was selected in the 4th round (113) by Seattle.
