Shetland pony shot in W. Pa., police investigating

BOLIVAR, Pa. (AP) — State police are investigating after someone fatally shot a Shetland Pony in the neck with a high-powered rifle.

Police say in a release that the shooting happened Tuesday between noon and 3 p.m. on a property about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh.

The horse owned by Lisa Adams of Bolivar had to be put down by a vet after the shooting.

There have been no arrests and police are asking anyone with information to call them.
